Carvin guitars and basses from 1964 until 1978 had bolt on Hfner necks, and the SH225 was made by Hfner and sold under the Carvin name. We want to highly recommend that members turn on and use TGP's two-factor authentication option. Carvin's relationship with Hfner began in the mid-1960's, and would last until the late 1980's. We highly recommend every member reading this change their passwords as a precaution. We have forced email revalidation for all members that have not signed on for a while. I played the hell out of those guitars for quite a long time. I bought 2 Carvin Bolt necks in the early 90's to put on two guitars I have. Carvin Neck Through Blanks - Amps - Harmony Central trend A friend of mine bought one of the 7-string necks and a body blank as a project and made a dimebag-esque guitar out of it.The neck is very high quality, carvins fretwork is top notch and they use high quality woods. In the last few years, Carvin has trotted out the carved top DC, the 24 fret CT, made a double cutaway version of the SH series, reissued the ST body shape, reissued the X100b, revamped the Legacy, and reissued the VT50, all based on comments from their customers. I have 4 custom Carvins and love them all. It's slightly darker in color than maple, which accentuates the DC127's neck. The TLB60 is a direct result of Carvin players wanting a bolt on TL style guitar. Alder is a high-quality tone wood used by many manufacturers because of its relative light weight and fine resonating tone. The DC127 has a standard alder body and maple neck-through design. The DC127 has garnered many accolades over the years, including winning Guitar Player Magazine's shoot out of 19 different guitars, which included entries from Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson and Peavey. This is a great playing instrument that sounds killer.
